Measles Affected Person Visits Popular Tourist Spots in LA

Los Angeles County has recently seen at least eight instances of measles among residents and public health officials. This situation is once again reminding people of the importance of getting vaccinated. These eight cases, which people have come across in Los Angeles County happen to be in addition to a couple of cases in Orange County. More than six people suffering from measles are believed to have gone through the area of Los Angeles in recent few weeks.

The infected individual, who is linked with the latest case had paid visits to the popular tourist spots. The spots include the likes of Grove, the Los Angeles Farmer’s Market, shops and stores that lie close to it and the Los Angeles International Airport. All those people, who had traveled through all these areas on 27th April, happen to be at risk for the next 3 weeks of developing the problem of measles. Due to this reason, doctors are urging people to make sure that they all get themselves vaccinated. This would help to stop the spread of this disease.

Doctors have made sure to urge each and everyone that they get vaccinated. This is the only way through which people can prevent themselves from getting affected by measles. Chairman of Infection Prevention with Dignity Health, Suman Radhakrishna said that the problem with measles is extremely contagious in nature. It does not take much time to spread from one person to another. Hence, it is extremely essential to take precaution through vaccinations. If there is a room filled up with 100 people, who are not immune to measles, 90 out of 100 people will finally go down with measles. Next thing that Suman stressed on is the fact that people happen to be contagious before they even start to show up symptoms.
